Mulch And Topsoil For Your Yard And Garden

by Phil Dagobah

Mulch can be used for many different applications around your home and business, as can other backfill and aggregates like topsoil and limestone. In addition to being used in gardens and yards, aggregates like stone are used as fill for basement waterproofing projects and other jobs that require good filtering.

Did you know that mulch can be created from substances such as shredded tires, bark, wood, cardboard, rubber, and other unusual materials? While the most common type of mulch used in gardening is made up of nutrient rich soil, this is not necessarily always the case.

Why Bathroom Planning is the Most Important Step

by Chet Lystrom

Have you ever looked at your bathroom and wish it looked a little different, or maybe a little more modern? Look around and think about how you would change the space. Do you have room for a larger tub or shower? Or maybe there’s room for two separate components?

When you first start planning to remodel your bathroom, consider your budget, available space, and what you would like as the center piece of the bathroom. Local contractors can take your measurements and ideas and give you a pretty accurate idea of how much your new bathroom will cost so you can budget accordingly. Once the budget is set, planning is complete, and you are ready to get started, you can create the bathroom of your dreams.

Some Ideal Bathroom Improvement Projects

by Adam Peters

Even though the literal use of the word bathroom may mean a place where someone takes a bath, there is more to it than that. In order for a room to be considered a bathroom, it must have four core elements, at least in the United States. It must have a bathtub, a shower, a toilet and a sink. If it has only a toilet and a sink, it will be considered half a bath. Some people refer to these half baths as powder rooms. A three quarter bath has the sink and toilet, but a shower and no bath. Any major changes in this room can be considered a bathroom improvement. These bathroom improvements can be performed by either the homeowner or a contractor he hires.

Most people work on other rooms in their house when the most important room in the entire house is the bathroom. All bathroom fixtures are usually a standard white which you can not do much to add color to those fixtures. There are accessories that can be changed though such as window treatments (blinds, roman shades, or curtains), shower curtain, bathroom vanity, mirror, and add some color through some bath towels.
