The way you handle your bedroom furniture is always important if you want to extend its life. However, you may not be able to do it the right way without proper planning and understanding the basics of its construction. It doesn’t matter whether you’re dealing with a whole bed or a bedroom furniture dresser or a tiny nightstand. When it comes to moving it, the rules are universal.

First thing to do is map the path to your bedroom. Pay attention to items that may be bumped along the way. These could be low-hanging fixtures, glass and other fragile decors and even doorknobs. When possible, clear the way of anything that may distract you from properly supporting the furniture you’re about to move.
